Section (1) Printed Textiles Room OC9
Room OC9 consists of one main open plan area, which contains the following:

1 Macclesfield Engineering 8 mt flat bed print table.
1 R.A. Smart 9mt flat bed print table.
1 Large Kippax light box/screen drying cabinet.
1 Small format Norva manual scissors heat press.
In addition to this there is large selection of silk screens in various sizes.
Screen Storage area.
Room OC9 also has two additional rooms OC9A, OC9B which are highlighted in (Section 2)

(Section 2) Screen Exposure Room OC9A (Heron)
One of the two rooms incorporated into Room OC9 which provides a vital resource for the production of photo silk screens.
All users of the area are given workshops in the method and safe handling of equipment and materials associated with this process.
The handout featured (below) gives an overview and explanation of the techniques involved and is provided as a companion to taught workshops. Suitable handouts are supplied where applicable.

1 Natgraph u.v. light source.

Screen Wash out Area Room OC9B (Teal)
One of the three rooms incorporated into Room OC9 which provides a vital resource for the washing out of silk screens and the removal of used/unwanted stencils.

but on a smaller scale. It is often used as an area for dedicated users and open access across the print area.

Atmospheric Steamer Room OC43A (Kite)
Room OC43A contains items of equipment which are an integral part of the finishing process involving much of the print based work carried out in the centre. The Steamer pictured here is used extensively throughout the year for fixing colour and developing process in both traditional and digital textile methods.

Dye Winch Room OC43A (KIte)
Another of the essential items of equipment contained within this area is the fully automated Dye winch.
This is used for dyeing lengths of suitable fabrics of varying type and quantity.

Washing Machines and Industrial Dryer Room OC43A (Kite)
The area has two domestic washing machines and an industrial spin dryer. These again are an integral part of the process and finishing of many of the activities which take place in the centre.
